Our client is pioneering a revolutionary cloud based scale out storage and computing platform. They have an innovative approach taking advantage of the latest advances in grid computing; clustered storage; virtualization and video processing technologies enabling a wide range of applications.

The senior support engineer will work with strategic accounts to perform field product installation, configuration, support, troubleshooting and training of our client’s media storage and delivery platform. The engineer will also work closely with the engineering team to identify, troubleshoot and report problems.

Responsibilities

•   Develop an deep technical knowledge of our client’s storage and media delivery platform.
•   Supervise the successful implementation of field trials and deployments.
•   Primary technical contact for the customer.
•    Troubleshoot and fix problems in a timely manner.
•   Participate in customer calls and project reviews.

Skills and Experience

8-10 years working in a production environment supporting equipment/products delivering live services to users. Installing and configuring Linux systems.. Experience troubleshooting complex issues that require parsing log files and collecting large amounts of data for use by development and other tiers of support.

Required Skills:

•   Expertise with at least one flavor of Linux
•   Knowledge with at least one scripting language (i.e.- bash, ksh, perl, python, ruby)
•   Basic understanding of command line utilities
•   Knowledge of TCP/IP
•   Desire to work in a fast paced environment on emerging technologies
•   Familiarity with MPEG standards strongly preferred.
•   Experience with enterprise IT and/or video distribution space is a plus.
•   Self motivated, self learner, multi-tasker, ability to troubleshoot and effectively communicate with an engineering team to get problems fixed.
•   Proven ability to support lab tests and field deployments in mission critical / high pressure environments.
